Council approves solar on public buildings grant program

City council approved grant agreements and authorized construction for three solar on public buildings sites at Central Fire Station #1, Well #3, and Ice Arena B. All three of the city’s grant applications were approved for the Minnesota Solar on Public Buildings Grant Program. The grant program provides funding to local governments to build solar energy generating systems on or adjacent to publicly owned and operated buildings.

Council approves Villas at Chasewood Development agreement

City council approved a development agreement for the Villas at Chasewood where a Housing Improvement Area (HIA) was established to assist with repairs to the buildings. Within an HIA, the city will finance housing improvements by the issuance of bonds which are secured by HIA fees that the city imposes and certifies for collection with taxes.

Council accepts 2025 assessment report

City council received the annual 2025 assessment report from the City Assessor. The report provided a detailed overview of the city’s real estate valuation. The report coincides with 2025 property tax billing timelines.
