Council recognizes Minnetonka Academy participants

City council recognized Minnetonka residents who attended the 2025 Minnetonka Academy. The academy consisted of five sessions which provided an overview of city government and operations. Topics included general government, police and fire, recreation, public works and a mock council meeting.

Council approves purchase agreement for 12620 Minnetonka Blvd

City council adopted a resolution for the city to purchase the land along Minnehaha Creek at 12620 Minnetonka Blvd. The property will be purchased for $950,000 and the land will be utilized to expand open space or park use adjacent to other city-owned properties.

Council awards contract for Police Department and City Buildings Roof Project

Following the approval of the project to replace the police department roof, council has awarded a contract for the project to Horizon Roofing. As funding allows, the project is amended to also include two smaller portions of the community center link and council chambers, for which the roofs have reached the end of their useful lives.

Council approves agreement for ICWC Program

City council approved the contract with the State of Minnesota Institution Community Work Crew (ICWC) program. Since 20024, the city has partnered with the state Department of Corrections on the ICWC program which allows minimum-security offenders educational opportunities for social and work skills. Participation in the program supports a wide range of city maintenance projects within the community.

Council ratifies Microsoft Enterprise agreement for city operations

City council approved the ratification of a three-year Microsoft Enterprise Agreement beginning in 2025. The agreement is essential for ensuring continued access to Microsoft products and services necessary for the city’s operations. The cost for the agreement is included in the 2025 budget, and future years will be accounted for in both the Capital Improvement Programs and annual budgets.
