Council accepts the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and related audit
Every year auditors provide city council with a review of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and their findings. Maintaining excellent financial and operational strength is key to allow the city to provide value for the full range of services for residents and businesses, and helps the city maintain its Aaa bond rating. Audit firm BerganKDV issued an unmodified opinion on the city’s 2024 financial statement audit with no audit findings.
Council awards contract for Ice Arena Rink B Refrigeration Improvement Project
The Ice Arena Rink B Refrigeration Improvement Project, which will occur in 2026, includes installation of a new refrigeration system, equipment and controls; operating equipment, electrical, plumbing and structural improvements to support the system. City council has awarded the contract for the project to Total Mechanical Services, Inc. The project is budgeted in the 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) as well as amendments to the 2020-2024, 2023-2027 and 2024-2028 CIPs.
Council received update on Hwy 7 Corridor Study
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has been conducting a study for an 18-mile segment of Minnesota State Highway 7 which includes Minnetonka. The goal of the study is to better understand transportation needs, identify opportunities for improvements, and evaluate design alternatives to seek future funding opportunities. MnDOT offered an update to city council to present the work that has been completed to date.
Council issues Pride Month proclamation
City council issued a proclamation recognizing June as Pride Month, celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and promoting inclusivity and equality.
