Absentee voting by mail is now open for the 2026 state primary election.
Minnetonka voters can request an absentee ballot and vote by mail through Hennepin County Elections.
The city council approved a change to in-person voting dates for the 2026 primary and general elections. Minnetonka will offer 18 days of in-person early voting at the Minnetonka Community Center, while continuing the option to vote by mail for 46 days.
The change follows recent state legislation that gives cities flexibility to determine how in-person voting is offered before elections. It improves operational efficiency and reduces administrative costs while maintaining voter access. You can vote early in person beginning July 24.
The state primary election is Tuesday, Aug. 11.
