Rebecca Schack was appointed to the Minnetonka City Council in July 2018, to temporarily fill the Ward 2 seat. She was elected to the Ward 2 seat in 2019 and re-elected in 2023.

Prior to the city council, Rebecca served on the Minnetonka Planning Commission, where she acted as vice chair in 2018. She received her undergraduate degree in business from the University of St. Thomas and her juris doctorate from William Mitchell College of Law. Rebecca is a partner at Meier Schack, LLC where she practices in the area of family law.

Rebecca is active as a volunteer with Lutheran Social Services and a board member with Living with Lupus and Fighting Together. She is active in the Hennepin County and Minnesota State Bar associations and leads an attorney mentorship group with the Hennepin County Bar. Rebecca and her husband Michael have resided in Minnetonka for six years.

2025 Alternate Acting Mayor

For the 2025 calendar year, Councilmember Rebecca Schack is designated as the acting mayor if both Mayor Wiersum and Councilmember Wilburn are absent for any reason.
