To borrow an AED, you must be:

• 18 years of age or older
• Trained in CPR and AED use OR watch the videos below

• The AED must be kept in Minnetonka.
• Although anyone can use the device, the borrower will be responsible for the AED while on loan, including transportation, storage, operation and return of the unit.
• The AED must not be kept for longer than seven days unless otherwise agreed upon with the AED loaner program coordinator.
• AEDs are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Requests for a loaner AED must be received at least five business days before the requested usage date.

• Approval is subject to AED and training availability.
• Minnetonka Fire personnel are able to provide Hands Only CPR and AED training upon request.
• Training and AED pick-up and return is available Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4 p.m. For weekend events, units may be picked up the Friday before the event and returned the following Monday.

When picking up an AED, the borrower must:

• Sign an AED Loan Agreement and Release form
• Complete the AED Loaner checklist
• Provide a $200 deposit (checks should be made out to the department). The deposit will not be used unless the borrower fails to return the AED, in the same condition, within seven days of the return date.
