Winter registration is now open. Including new Wednesday sessions, extended holiday offerings and extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays.

• 1-hour, 25-minute sauna sessions (10 person max for private; eight person max for public)
• Cost is $25/person.
• Participants must be 18 or older.
• Preregistration is required. Space is limited and fills fast. 
• Cancelations must be made at least one week prior to a reservation in order to receive a refund.
• Search availability and register.

Private group reservations

• Available select hours Saturdays and Sundays.
• Private group reservations are $250 for up to 10 people.

Arrival

• Please park in the main parking lot. Sauna in the Parks will run just inside the Shady Oak Beach gate.
• Please arrive roughly five minutes before your start time.
• Check in with the sauna host. Indoor changing rooms and space to store personal items will be provided. Please be respectful to groups finishing their sauna sessions.

What to bring

• Bathing suit or athletic clothing (something that can get sweaty and wet)
• Water bottle
• Two full-size towels - one to sit on and one to use after your session. A towel is required for sitting on the bench inside the sauna.
• Flip flops or similar sandals
• Robe, sweatshirt, blanket or similar clothing to wear outdoors between your sauna rounds
• Change of clothes for after
• Proof of purchase. Either printed receipt or screenshot.
• Completed waiver. Waiver will also be available onsite.

What not to bring

• Alcohol is prohibited.
• No portable speakers.
• No strong fragrances, perfumes or essential oils.

Weather Policy

• The sauna will close down if the sustained wind-chill for the majority of the day is forecasted to be below -20 or if the sustained air temperature is forecasted below -5 for the majority of the day. Additional cancellations due to weather events may be made at the discretion of the program manager. All Sauna in the Parks participants will be notified by email in the event of a cancelation.  

The sauna will be staffed by a host to maintain the wood fire stove and help guide the sauna experience.

Sauna Code

Please be respectful of your fellow sauna guests. Please help us maintain a peaceful, kind and welcoming environment that is safe, comfortable and enjoyable for all.

• Come hydrated.
• Indoor facilities for changing and storing personal items will be available. This space will be partially heated. No running water.
• The sauna will be kept at a temperature between 180-200 Fahrenheit. At this temperature, sauna is most affective at promoting healthy blood flow by activation of the thermoregulatory system.
• Practicing full rounds will provide the full health benefits. A round consists of 10-20 minutes in the sauna, followed by a cool-down period outside.
• Letting your body cool down between rounds by relaxing and cooling off and/or taking a polar plunge in the lake has been shown to increase your circulation and provide the full physical and mental benefit of the experience. If you’re going to polar plunge, it’s recommended to try to plunge for 2-5 minutes for the greatest benefits.
• A typical sauna session consists of three to four rounds of this hot-cold treatment.
