Construction of a new trail is underway along Hopkins Crossroad from Cedar Lake Road to Wayzata Boulevard. The multi-use paved trail will be eight feet wide for both pedestrians and bicyclists. The goal is to improve safety, connectivity and mobility along Hopkins Crossroad.

 

Approximate project schedule

  • 2019 – Survey and feasibility report
  • Aug. 22, 2022 - City Council to consider approval of Feasibility Study and authorize plan preparation. 
  • 2023 – Burial of overhead powerlines
  • 2024 –Construction of trail

Project updates

June 18, 2025

  • Hennepin County is scheduled to begin work next week for the mill and overlay of Hopkins Crossroad (CSAH 73).
    • Expect to see increased traffic control and construction activity over the next several weeks.
  • The trail contractor is also finishing up outstanding punch list items throughout the corridor, including final ornamental railing installation, retaining wall work, and restoration.
