Ridgedale Drive Improvements Project Updates Archive
- Installation of plantings and restoration work between YMCA Lane and Plymouth Road began this week and will continue into next week.
- Final restoration of turf areas will be completed over the coming month.

As construction resumes on Ridgedale Drive, between Plymouth Road and YMCA Lane, please be aware of temporary traffic control and signage. We thank you for your patience as we complete this important work.

The Ridgedale Drive Improvements Project is about to resume with Stage 2 construction. Stage 3 construction is scheduled for this summer, with final paving and cleanup expected to occur this fall.
Here’s what to expect as construction begins.
- This week, Centerpoint Energy will be performing gas service work along Ridgedale Drive.
- Construction is expected to begin Monday, March 30, with tree and pavement removal.
- Ridgedale Drive will close from YMCA to the South Frontage Road, along with a few access points to Ridgedale Center and area businesses. View a detailed stage 2 map. Please drive carefully in the project area and follow posted signs and detours.
- Business and apartment access (view map)
- Use I-394 and Ridgedale Drive to access Ridgedale Center and Sheraton Minneapolis West Hotel.
- Use Plymouth Road and Ridgedale Drive to access the YMCA, Hennepin County Ridgedale Service Center and area apartment complexes.
- Stage 1 construction is complete and Ridgedale Drive and the south frontage road are open to all traffic.

In the coming weeks, construction will include:

The city is finalizing plans for the Ridgedale Drive Reconstruction project, between Plymouth Road and Wayzata Boulevard, expected to take place from spring 2019 to fall 2020.
At its January 28 meeting the city council will consider moving forward with this project, including:
- Road reconstruction
- Utility improvements
- Signal modifications at Plymouth Road
- Pedestrian improvements
- Landscaping improvements
- Lighting improvements
