Businesses and residents may drop-off household recyclables and organic material at the Minnetonka/Hopkins Recycling Drop-off Center at 11511 Minnetonka Blvd., across from the fuel pumps.

The drop-off center is under video surveillance. Leaving unaccepted items may be punished by a $1,000 fine and up to 90 days in jail.

Organics

Residents and businesses and residents may drop off only the following items in the designated organics dumpster.

  • Food
  • Food-soiled paper (plates, napkins, paper towels, pizza boxes, egg cartons)
  • Coffee grounds and filters
  • Hair and nail clippings
  • Cotton balls
  • Houseplants and flowers
  • Certified compostable products

Materials must be bagged in a BPI certified compostable bag or paper bag. BPI certified bags will have one of these symbols.
